Friday 3rd March saw the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury play host to some superb girl’s indoor cricket as the Lady Taverner’s Schools County Final played out in the Academy Sports Hall. With four regional clusters played in the lead up across the County, the best of the U13 and U15 Schools were brought together to compete against each other for the trophy.
In the U13 Competition Ashford School, Colfes School, Kent College and Sir Roger Manwoods were represented and it was Kent College who saw off Colfes School in the final to take the trophy. In the U15 Competition Hayes School, Kent College, Maidstone Grammar and Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar were represented and it was Hayes School who chased a huge total to snatch the double from Kent College.
Kent College and Hayes School will now represent Kent in the Regional Stage of the Competition now run by the ECB. We wish them all the best.
Many thanks to the Umpires, Teachers, Players and Coaches who helped this tournament to be a success and to the following venues for hosting the tournament clusters.
- Dover Christchurch Academy
- Homewood School
- St Simon Stock Catholic School
- Ames Levett Indoor Centre, Canterbury
- The County Ground, Beckenham
