dis eduProviding disability cricket to all educational establishments in Kent, Medway, Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich & Lewisham is an important aspect of the work undertaken by Kent Cricket. Working alongside mainstream schools and colleges we offer the same provisions to introduce and grow cricket for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Chance to Shine

Chance to Shine is a national charity who fund programmes to reintroduce and develop Cricket in state schools. Kent Cricket are proud to be one of Chance to Shine's delivery partners.  When we work with both primary and secondary schools through Chance to Shine, both parties sign an agreement outlining the responsibilities of being involved.

  • An inspirational assembly based around the Spirit of Cricket
  • Curriculum coaching sessions
  • The chance for Intra and Inter school competition
  • Informal teacher training
  • Dedicated nights at a local cricket club

Lord’s Taverners Disability Cricket Championships (LTDCC)

ltdcc disThe Lord’s Taverners Disability Cricket Championships (LTDCC) is a regular year-round competition and coaching programme for disabled young people across London.

Lord’s Taverners Table Cricket (LTTC)

lttc disNot solely for schools the LTTC provides the opportunity for an introduction to cricket in a safe and familiar setting and can be played in the classroom if needed. Based on a table tennis table it can be played on any table with edges to attach the equipment.

Higher and Further Education

fehe disThroughout the county we are able to offer cricket to both further and higher educational establishments as well as adult learning centres. Whether this be with the Lord’s Taverners Disability Cricket Championships for those based in London or additional funding we have received from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to continue promote cricket to all within education.

2018 Disability Primary Schools Rapid Fire Festival

The annual Kent Cricket disability schools Rapid Fire tournament for Primary aged pupils will again be held at Kings Hill Cricket Club in central Kent.

Due to the popularity of this event the Primary Schools will, for the first time, have a day to themselves to play and compete in this annual event with the Secondary Schools competing on a separate day (20th June 2018).
